This policy ensures that all conference participants have equitable access to learning opportunities and that accommodations are provided in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and ASHA Continuing Education Board (CEB) requirements.
OKWhen is committed to creating inclusive, accessible learning experiences for all participants. We recognize and respect individual differences and will make reasonable efforts to provide accommodations to meet learner needs related to disabilities or other access requirements.
1. Notification of Needs
o Learners will be informed of the opportunity to request accommodations in all course and event
registration materials.
o Requests for accommodations should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event via email. Contact: [email protected]
o Requests received after this time will be reviewed and addressed to the extent possible.
2. Types of Accommodations
Examples of reasonable accommodations may include, but are not limited to:
o closed captioning or live transcription;
o accessible course materials (e.g., large print, digital formats compatible with screen readers);
o physical access adjustments (e.g., reserved seating, wheelchair accessibility); and/or
o support for sensory or communication needs.
3. Confidentiality
All accommodation requests and related communications will be handled confidentially. Only personnel
directly involved in facilitating accommodations will have access to this information.
4. Presenter Responsibilities
o Presenters must design course content and materials with accessibility in mind (e.g., use readable
fonts, provide text alternatives for visuals, ensure slides are accessible).
o Presenters will coordinate with OKWhen Chief Learning Officer to ensure that approved
accommodations are implemented effectively.
5. Ongoing Accessibility Efforts
OKWhen regularly reviews its instructional design and delivery methods to enhance accessibility and
promote inclusive learning practices.
